Zoning exists to establish appropriate uses for land and avoid inappropriate uses (such as a high rise building being established in a predominately residential area)

There are several factors to consider when planning new construction or modifications to property.

This section highlights the processes and resources needed to gain the appropriate planning permits, explore zoning change processes, and understand the applicable ordinances.  The Area Planning Commission is responsible for these areas in Randolph County.
