Building Codes in Randolph County

Randolph County has adopted the Indiana Division of Fire and Building Safety codes which includes code for:

• Buildings & Dwellings
• Structural Code
• Plumbing Code
• Mechanical Code
• Electrical Code
• Fire/Life Safety Code
• Accessibility Code
• Energy Code
• Elevator Code
• Gas Code

These codes are conprehensive and complex.  Your contractor should be familiar with these codes.

The Indiana Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commission has posted and maintains the Codes Standards & Other Rules

Each property owner is responsible for assuring that construction performed on their property is in adherance with these codes. Consequently, the Randolph County Building Commission recommends that you utilize only building contractors and tradespeople who have been certified and registered by the commission.
