Locate Section Markers on the GIS
Section Markers identify the geographic corners of the sections of land that were defined when the county was first platted. The legal description of each real estate property in the county begins with their position from these section markers.
You can review the section markers on the Randolph County GIS System by accessing the system, and then selecting the Sections checkbox under Land Information (on the right side of the screen) as well as selecting Unverified Section Corners .
On the GIS you may also:
- Zoom in or out by clicking and dragging the selector that appears on the right side of the map
- Zoom in by clicking anywhere on the map to select a specific section (click once and wait for the system to zoom in, then click again to zoom in closer)
- Click and drag to identify a shaded rectangle over the area of interest to select only that section to view.
Section Markers are visible as numbered blue triangles on the map.
